Print Positives (Halley and Klein Galleries)
Mar 24- Oct 6, 2019The second in a series of exhibitions made possible through grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Print Positives features a wide array of prints from the Museum’s permanent collection. Approximately 20% of the collection is composed of prints, all of which were thoroughly studied through a collaborative effort between the Museum’s Curator and the Dayton Printmakers’ Cooperative. The exhibition includes works by Jean-François Millet, Salvador Dali, Roy Lichtenstein, Alexander Calder, Francisco Goya, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Julian Stanczak, Bruce Nauman, Nancy Louise Holt, and Alice Aycock, among others.
The opening reception on Mar 24, which will feature a demonstration from 2-3:30 pm and a moderated discussion between the Museum’s Curator, a representative from the Dayton Printmakers’ Cooperative, and two visiting artists from the Gen Studio Group in Japan, Nobuko Ueda and Yuko Innami from 3:30-4:30 pm.
