Plein Air is a term derived from the French phrase “en plein air,” which literally means “in the open air.” These artists, painting in the open air, are particularly interested in the influence of the changing light outdoors. This year’s exhibition is comprised of paintings from the Plein Air Society executed at specific sites, during specific seasons and times of day, illustrating new ways to see our State.
