As the only art museum in Ohio affiliated with the national Smithsonian Institution, the Springfield Museum of Art is not to be missed! The Springfield Museum of Art’s permanent collection and changing exhibitions include American art, primarily from the Midwest. In addition to eight galleries, the Museum also offers workshops and classes for people of all ages. Situated in Veteran’s Park, along the Buck Creek ECO Sports Corridor, the Museum is also near downtown dining and shopping. If you haven’t been here yet, plan a visit soon!
The galleries reopened on Wednesday, Feb 3, 2021. The health and safety of all visitors, members, and staff remains our top priority. In response to coronavirus (COVID-19), and to help reduce the spread of the virus, the Museum follows safety protocol such as: limiting the number of visitors in the galleries, frequent cleaning and sanitizing, and suggesting face masks for all visitors ages 2 and older. Though your visit may look different, please know that these protocols and guidelines are in place to provide a safe and enriching experience for all visitors and staff. All details of how
