Classic Images includes 72 images – all black and white – that Adams personally printed for his daughter. It is one of his Museum Sets, a portfolio he conceived in the 1970s as the best images from his career.

The 2014 Congressional Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery,” aims to showcase the artistic talents of 8th District high school students. The competition is open to high school students (grades 9-12), who are residents of the 8th Congressional District.
The work of art that is awarded the GRAND PRIZE will hanging in the U.S. Capitol for one year, along with other winning pieces from students around the country. The winning artist may receive free round-trip airfare for the national winners’ reception in Washington, D.C., and be eligible for a $3000/year scholarship to a renowned college of arts and design. FIRST PLACE artwork will hang in the Office of the Speaker of the House for one year. Winners will be announced at a community reception at Springfield Museum of Art on April 5.

Wittenberg University Professor Emeritus of Art Jack Osbun returns with new work to the Springfield Museum of Art.
This exhibit presents works of art inspired by the Ohio landscape. From cities and towns to farms, woodlands, and riverbanks, artists have been moved to create works provoked by the environments of Ohio.

Annual Meeting
The Springfield Museum of Art Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, Jun 7, from 5:00-5:30 pm immediately prior to the opening reception for the Annual Juried Members’ exhibit. All members are welcome to attend.
Best of 2013 showcases the best work coming from craft studios throughout America. Fiber, ceramics, glass, small metals, as well as all craft media are represented. 20 additional pieces are on view in an auxiliary exhibition at Dayton Visual Arts Center.
