Springfield Museum of Art is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.

The Museum is now open Wednesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30pm. Wednesday through Saturday, with 9 to 10am reserved for individuals who are high risk.

The health and safety of all visitors, staff, and volunteers is our top priority. We are taking extra safety precautions to ensure the health and safety of all members, visitors, volunteers, and employees through the following measures:

» Increased cleaning procedures

» Hourly sanitization of high-contact surfaces

» Limiting the number of visitors in galleries

» Providing hand sanitizer stations throughout the Museum

» Masks are required for employees, and for all visitors over two years old


What to Expect for Your Visit

» If you feel unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19, please refrain from visiting.

» Please wear face coverings for the protection of all visitors and staff. Wearing a face covering is courteous and shows respect for others’ safety and health. Face masks will be available onsite for visitors who arrive without them.

» Please use preventative measures such as washing your hands for at least 20 seconds and using the hand-sanitizer stations provided throughout the building.

» Please respect and maintain physical distancing of six-feet or more between unrelated social groups at all times. Areas such as the Front Desk will be marked with floor graphics.

» We have removed all paper materials from circulation both in the lobby and galleries. Please see the Front Desk for information.


New Safety and Cleaning Protocols & Procedures

Springfield Museum of Art has supported and will continue to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding COVID-19. Due to the fluid nature of Covid-19 response, these protocols may change and will always reflect our priority on safety.

» A Plexiglass shield has been installed at the front desk for the safety of our visitors and staff.

» Restrooms will be open and will be sanitized throughout the day.

» Hand-sanitizing stations will be available throughout the Museum.

» High-touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected hourly.

» Face coverings are mandatory for all staff in accordance with state regulations.

» All staff team members conduct daily health checks before beginning work.

» All staff team members follow good personal hygiene guidelines, including washing hands and increased sanitation.

» Additional personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitizer, disinfectant and cleaning supplies have been stocked at the Museum.
