Former James Leffel & Co. Building

This former turbine plant was condemned and ordered demolished at the owner's expense. Harry Denune who owns this historic landmark on East St, has lost appeals to the highest courts in his attempt to repair the building and salvage the plants equipment. After removing the asbestos which will cost several hundred thousand dollars, those machines, now patiently parked outside the plant, will dissect the building and haul it away. - 3/30/2002
