Capturing Likenesses: Portraits by Eunice Bronkar (Halley Gallery)

Jun 28-Sep 28, 2014 Eunice Bronkar has had a keen interest in people and portraits for as long as she can remember. “I have always drawn people. In Junior High and High School, I would draw fellow students when they didn’t know I was drawing them, stopping when discovered.” Eunice’s portraits seek out the human spirit of her subjects; the most patient and consistent subjects have been her family. In addition to her Bachelors in Fine Art and Masters in Art Education from Wright State University, she has studied under many master artists, however, one of her earliest instructors, Ethel Cook, made a profound impact on Eunice’s approach to painting, especially portraiture.
